Retirement Planning Process
the AUWP Way

Retirement and Estate Planning is about love of family not just money

Our ideas and vision are what set America United Wealth Planning apart. There’s no shortage of retirement planners or attorneys in Chicagoland who can help you on a purely transactional level with a retirement or estate plan.

However, when you’re looking for more than just a transaction, that’s where America United Wealth Planning shines. Our planners and attorneys are hands on and collaborative. We work with you, sharing our vision for your retirement or your estate plan. During this process, we ensure your involvement every step of the way. The retirement planning process is highly personal, focusing on your individual needs and goals. That’s why you meet with your dedicated planner or attorney at the outset of the process before any planning has begun.

Free Initial Consultation

It starts by calling America United Wealth Planning for a free consultation. During our initial meeting, we will discuss your ideas and explore your options. America United Wealth Planning planners and attorneys are experts in helping clients define their vision and realize their goals. The retirement planning process starts with our first meeting. We will discuss the issues you are trying to address, so we can learn what you are hoping to achieve. We will talk about your family, learn about their personalities and temperaments, and identify the scope of what we are working to help you achieve. We will start to identify little areas where we might want to consider tweaks, to make the good things you’ve already been doing even better.

Developing the Plan & Writing the Proposal

After establishing a relationship, and reviewing your goals and objectives, we draft and present a proposal that is in-line with achieving those goals. Great care and attention to detail is provided to ensure that the proposal is presented in plain English. We may meet several times to tweak and review the proposal, based on your input. We respect your feedback and decision to work or not to work with us. We are perfectly comfortable to part as friends if necessary. We find that maintaining and preserving a positive relationships is more important than achieving short-sighted transactional goals.

Implementing the Plan

If we go forward with the plan, we are at your side when implementing it. If it’s legal documents, we draft the documents, and then aid you with any outside administrative bodies necessary to put the plan into effect. If it’s a retirement or long-term care plan, we work with the financial institutions to reposition your assets so as to achieve your goals. You’ll work with one attorney or financial planner, and he will communicate with you to answer any questions and to provide overviews and progress updates. Communication is very important, and your planner or attorney will be instrumental in keeping you informed and making sure everything is running smoothly and to your specifications.

Completing the Plan

As the plan is completed, that is not the end of your relationship with America United Wealth Planning. We typically will continue to occasionally meet with our clients to check-in with them, maintain the relationship, and make sure that if they or their family have any questions, that they have a professional just a phone call away. Your complete satisfaction is our highest goal. Our total commitment to client satisfaction is the reason that 95% of our customers would refer us to friends and family.
